Memories of a Forgotten Lifetime
I’m a bit on the jumpy side when it comes to the great outdoors and creepy-crawly things. Oh ya . . . big time. But I’m learning to love myself anyway.
My hands and face are developing age spots, where soon I will be just one big spot. See Spot run. But I’m learning to love myself anyway.
I’m hyper and overly sensitive, and have obsessive control disorder. Am I in your way? But I’m learning to love myself anyway.
My breasts seem to have a mind of their own these days. Not even the best bra can help The Girls. But I’m learning to love myself anyway.
Sometimes I don’t speak my mind when I should or I nod my head in agreement when I shouldn’t. But I’m learning to love myself anyway.
I don’t always chew my food, and eat far too fast—faster than most hot dog eating contestants. But I’m learning to love myself anyway.
Each one of my apparent flaws has contributed to my personal growth and acceptance for all that I am and all that I am not. Learning to care about oneself, includes self-love. And once you start down this path, each step will become easier, until one day you awaken to your beloved self. There you are.
It is never too late to fall in love with yourself. Self-love is neither egotistical nor narcissistic. Self-love is the mastery and breath of true liberation, and when one person shines the light upon themself, the brightness of which can light up the world.
